The hormones during this time can make your skin more sensitive and prone to irritation. Aim for a week or two after your period when your skin is less reactive.
2. Exfoliate Before Waxing
Exfoliating your skin a day or two before waxing can help remove dead skin cells and reduce the chance of ingrown hairs. Use a gentle scrub or a loofah to gently clean the area, but avoid over-exfoliating as this can also irritate your skin.
3. Trim the Hair
If the hair in the area you’re waxing is too long, it can make the process more painful. Trim the hair to about a quarter of an inch before your appointment to ensure a smoother and more effective wax.
