A silk dress is a dress made of very high-end materials. Due to its high price, it is required that everyone pay special attention to its maintenance and try to extend its service life as much as possible.

First, let’s introduce the washing techniques for silk dresses.

Water washing: Silk clothing is woven from protein based delicate health fibers, and should not be rubbed or washed with a washing machine on rough objects. The clothes should be immersed in cold and clean water for 5-10 minutes, and then gently rubbed with special silk detergent synthetic low foam laundry detergent or neutral soap. Colored silk clothing can be repeatedly rinsed in clean water.

Air drying: After washing, silk clothing should not be exposed to sunlight, nor should it be dried with a dryer. Generally, it should be placed in a cool and ventilated place to air dry. Because ultraviolet rays in the sun can easily cause silk fabrics to turn yellow, fade, and age. So after washing silk clothing, it is not advisable to wriggle and remove water. It should be gently shaken open, spread out and air in the opposite direction, and air until 70% dry before ironing or shaking it flat. Ironing: The wrinkle resistance of real silk clothing is slightly inferior to that of synthetic fabrics, so there is a saying that “no wrinkle is not real silk”. If the clothes wrinkle after washing, they need to be ironed to be firm, elegant, and beautiful. When ironing, air the clothes until they are 70% dry and spray them evenly with water. Wait for 3-5 minutes before ironing. The ironing temperature should be controlled below 150 ℃. The iron should not directly touch the silk surface to avoid producing aurora.

Preservation: Preserve silk clothing. For thin underwear, shirts, pants, skirts, pajamas, etc., they should be washed clean, ironed dry, and then collected. For autumn and winter clothing, jackets, and qipaos that are inconvenient to disassemble and wash, they should be washed and brushed clean using dry cleaning method until they are ironed flat to prevent mold and decay. After ironing, it can also have a sterilizing and insect killing effect. At the same time, the boxes and cabinets for storing clothes should be kept clean and sealed as much as possible to prevent dust pollution.

Let me introduce to you again the maintenance methods for silk dresses.

1. When choosing a silk dress, be careful to purchase one that is 2-4 centimeters larger than your original size, so that it is comfortable to wear and not easy to damage the silk protein fibers.

2. Silk dresses should be ironed at medium temperature (130-140 degrees).

3. Silk dresses should be dried in the shade and should not be dried in sunlight or fluorescent lights.

4. It is best to hang and store silk clothing, keeping it dry. Insect repellents must be wrapped in cloth and should not come into direct contact with the clothing.

5. Silk dresses have strong moisture absorption, and it is best to hang the clothes on a hanger and maintain ventilation when not wearing them; If the clothes are not very dirty, do not wash them. Hang the worn clothes in a ventilated area until the sweat evaporates before wearing them; If the clothes are not very dirty, they can be rinsed with clean water without adding any detergent. It is recommended that customers do not wear one piece of clothing for a long time. Replacing them can reduce the frequency of silk clothing getting wet.

6. Silk dresses are prone to wrinkles when worn. You can find a small spray bottle and fill it with some water. Sprinkle a few times on the wrinkled area to solve the problem.
